Simplified Acceleration for Network and Security Appliances

Netronome's Network Flow Engine (NFE) family of multi-gigabit PCIe interface cards enables the acceleration of network and security applications in a highly scalable manner. Featuring high-performance packet processing delivered from multiple microengine cores, the NFEs utilize several techniques to dramatically improve network I/O workloads, including packet classification, stateful flow analysis, deep packet inspection, integrated security processing and dynamic load balancing of flows to multiple x86 CPU cores.

Available in a range of price and performance configurations, the NFE family of accelerator cards is targeted for use in networking, security, deep packet inspection and test and measurement solutions. The PCI-Express cards are an ideal platform for vendors looking to accelerate network and application performance while reducing design time, complexity and cost.

Netronome Network Flow Engine,  NFE-3240

Powered by Netronome’s award-winning 40 Gbps network flow processor, the NFE-3240 PCIe Gen2 acceleration cards are available with two 10-gigabit Ethernet ports or six 1-gigabit Ethernet ports. The NFE-3240 is ideal for line-rate packet capture, or inline applications requiring zero packet loss and low latency. Linux-based applications can quickly benefit from a heterogeneous multicore architecture that couples the application processing power of multicore x86 with the high-throughput networking capabilities of the NFE-3240. The NFE-3240 is the only PCIe Gen2 acceleration card featuring enhanced IOV support offering bandwidth guarantees and traffic isolation, with extremely low latency, to over 2,000 x86 endpoints and other networking devices.

Netronome Network Flow Processing Platforms

Netronome's Network Flow Processing Platforms deliver up to 200 Gbps of programmable L2-L7 networking in compact 1U and 2U form factors. These high-performance Intel Xeon 5600-based server platforms are purpose-built for network and security applications that require line-rate throughput, low latency and high availability from standard IA/x86 systems. Netronome’s Network Flow Processing Platforms couple x86 multicore processors with the NFE-3240 PCIe Gen2 acceleration cards in a heterogeneous multicore processing architecture with independent layers of workload-optimized packet, flow, security and application processing to dramatically increase network performance.

Netronome Network Flow Engine, NFE-i8000

Based on the IXP2855 NPU with 16 microengine cores, the NFE-i8000 can improve server and appliance performance by providing line rate flow processing and deep packet inspection over four ports of Gigabit Ethernet. The NFE-i8000 can dramatically increase the performance of network security appliances with the most stringent applications in the most difficult environments.

Netronome’s 10Gbps Network Flow Processing Solution

Netronome’s flow processors and network acceleration products offer a highly programmable heterogeneous coprocessing environment that tightly couples the packet processing of the Netronome Flow Engine (NFE) microengine cores with the performance and ubiquity of general-purpose multicore (x86) systems. Bringing together the NFE acceleration hardware and Netronome Flow Manager (NFM) software, the solution scales to 10 Gbps and provides improved server and appliance performance by delivering unmatched visibility and control of traffic at L2-L7 for over two million simultaneous flows.

Netronome SSL Inspector™ Transparent SSL Proxy

The Netronome SSL Inspector™ is the industry’s highest-performance transparent proxy for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) network communications, providing existing sniffing, recording and filtering security appliances with access to the decrypted plaintext of SSL-encrypted flows. This provides assurance that common threats, such as spam, spyware and viruses, data theft and other forms of cyber crime, are identified inside SSL flows that previously could not be examined by installed network and security appliances. Network appliance manufacturers now have a mechanism to provide their security applications with visibility into both SSL and non-SSL network traffic that also increase their application performance.
