It is designed to enable massive network automation through programmatic extension, while still supporting standard management interfaces and protocols. The Linux Kernel Organization is a California Public Benefit Corporation established in 2002 to distribute the Linux kernel and other Open Source software to the public without charge. Netronome contributes and maintains Intelligent Server Adapter drivers to the Linux Kernel Organization to be distributed free with Linux.
DPDK.org is a repository for Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) software. DPDK is an Open Source BSD licensed project consisting of a set of libraries and drivers for fast packet processing. Netronome contributes software to DPDK.org to be distributed free of charge with DPDK builds. The most recent patches and enhancements, provided by the community, are available in master branch.
ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute, produces globally-applicable standards for Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), including fixed, mobile, radio, converged, broadcast and Internet technologies. Netronome is actively involved in the ETSI regarding Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). Netronome recently co-authored an ETSI Work item on vSwitch requirements and benchmarking known as IFA003.
